Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Missouri officials say WIC benefits will continue to be available for redemption into November despite the ongoing federal government shutdown.
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is administered by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and funded through the USDA. The program provides nutrition education, healthy food options, breastfeeding support, and health service referrals for qualifying families. WIC participants are encouraged to continue attending appointments and using their WIC cards as usual.
The department is monitoring funding daily and will notify retailers and families if a pause in benefits becomes necessary later in the month. For the latest updates, visit wic.mo.gov.
