Nine Officers Fall Through Deck During Attempt to Serve Missouri Warrant

Randolph Co., Mo. (KFMO) - An attempt to serve a warrant at the home of a convicted sex offender in Missouri turned chaotic when a second-floor wooden deck collapsed beneath nine law enforcement officers.

Body-camera audio captured the moment four U.S. Marshals and five sheriff's deputies fell from the deck to the ground. Five of the officers were hospitalized following the fall. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.

The officers were reportedly involved in an operation targeting convicted sex offenders who had allegedly failed to register their addresses. The incident was captured on body-camera audio, documenting the sudden collapse as the officers were standing on the wooden structure.

The subject of the warrant, 26-year-old Jacob Alexander Munoz, was taken into custody later that day, the U.S. Marshals Service said.

The operation highlights the risks law enforcement officers can face while attempting to locate and apprehend individuals wanted on warrants.
