Three Killed in Missouri Over 2025 Thanksgiving Holiday Period

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports three people were killed in traffic crashes during the 2025 Thanksgiving holiday counting period, which ran from 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, through 11:59 p.m.

Sunday, November 30. No boating crashes or drownings were reported. Troopers recorded 304 crashes statewide, resulting in 82 injuries and three fatalities. They also made 87 arrests for driving while intoxicated. Those numbers reflect a decrease from the 2024 Thanksgiving period, when 462 crashes and six fatalities were reported by the Patrol, and 11 people died statewide in 1,664 total crashes investigated by all law enforcement agencies. Two of this year’s fatalities occurred on Thanksgiving Day, November 27.

The third fatality occurred on Friday, November 28.
