Missouri State Highway Patrol Accepting Applications for Accelerated Recruit Class

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol is now accepting applications for its 128th Accelerated Recruit Class, offering a fast-track path for experienced law enforcement professionals interested in becoming Missouri state troopers.

According to Sergeant Dallas Thompson, the Patrol is actively seeking qualified candidates who are ready to take the next step in their law enforcement careers.

The Patrol is currently operating with a shortage of nearly 130 troopers statewide, including 25 vacancies in Troop C. Thompson says the position offers a meaningful and rewarding opportunity to serve communities across Missouri.

Applicants for the accelerated program will undergo testing in Jefferson City, Missouri. Those who successfully complete the testing phase will move forward in the Patrol’s selection process.

The application deadline is June 30, 2026.

The 15-week Accelerated Academy is scheduled to begin on January 4, 2027, with graduation planned for April 2027.
