Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri Supreme Court has set an execution date for Lance Shockley, who was convicted of murdering Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Dewayne Graham in 2005.
Shockley is scheduled to be executed on October 14, 2025. Sergeant Graham was shot and killed in March 2005 near his home in Van Buren. A jury later found that Shockley ambushed and killed the officer to prevent him from testifying in an investigation involving Shockley. Since his conviction, Shockley has filed multiple appeals, all of which have been denied. With legal avenues now exhausted, the court has issued the formal execution order.
Shockley is currently incarcerated at the Potosi Correctional Center, in Mineral Point. His execution will be carried out by lethal injection.
