Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Unclaimed property in Missouri continues to increase, and state officials say residents should take time to see if any of it belongs to them.
Missouri State Treasurer Vivek Malek says his office manages the state’s unclaimed property program, which currently holds a significant amount of assets waiting to be returned to rightful owners.
According to Malek, unclaimed property can include a wide variety of items.
The treasurer’s office works to reunite individuals and families with their missing assets, but residents must first search the database to see if they are owed money or property.
Missourians can check for unclaimed property by visiting the official website.
