New 4-Way Stop Planned at Hazel Lane and Maple Valley Drive in Farmington

Farmington, MO. (KFMO) - Drivers in Farmington should be prepared for a traffic change coming soon.

The City of Farmington has announced plans to install new stop signs at the intersection of Hazel Lane and Maple Valley Drive, converting it into a four-way stop. The decision follows the results of a recent speed and traffic study, which was presented to the city’s Public Works Committee and approved for implementation.

City officials say the change comes in response to ongoing concerns from residents, particularly those who have difficulty safely exiting Hazel Lane due to traffic flow. In addition, the intersection serves as a designated school bus stop, increasing the need for improved safety measures.

Student safety and rising traffic volume were both cited as major factors in the decision to move forward with the four-way stop.

Installation of the new stop signs is expected later this month. Drivers are encouraged to remain cautious and alert as motorists adjust to the updated traffic pattern.
