St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Residents across St. Francois County may notice unusual vehicle activity this week as officials work to improve emergency communications.
St. Francois County 911 is conducting radio testing on its new countywide communication network throughout the week as part of an effort to enhance coverage and reliability for emergency services.
During the testing process, residents may see two vehicles traveling across the county, including on some private roads. Officials say one vehicle is a white Ford F-250, while the other is a black Ford Explorer.
The testing is designed to ensure the new radio system provides consistent and dependable communication for first responders across all areas of the county.
Authorities emphasize that this work is a critical step in improving emergency response capabilities and public safety. Residents who encounter the testing vehicles are asked not to be concerned and can expect crews to be conducting routine signal checks.
St. Francois County 911 officials thank the public for their patience and cooperation as they complete this important upgrade to better serve the community.
