MoDOT Plans Bridge Replacements in Madison County

Madison Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced plans to replace three bridges in Madison County with wider structures.

The projects include two bridges on Route M, over Shetley Creek and East Fork Big Creek, and one bridge on Route C over Leatherwood Creek near Jewett. During construction, each roadway will be closed for about three months. Closures of County Road 310 and County Road 301 will also be necessary while the Route M bridges are being replaced. Work on the Route M bridges could begin as early as December 2026, with the Route C project expected to start in summer 2027 to avoid disruptions to the local school district. MoDOT has made maps and project details available for public inspection at its Sikeston District office.

Those wishing to request a public meeting must submit written requests by October 1.
