MoDOT Postpones Nightly I-55 Exit Ramp Closures in Jefferson County Due to Weather

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Drivers in southern Jefferson County will not encounter the planned overnight ramp closures this week after the Missouri Department of Transportation postponed the project because of weather.

The closures had been scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights as crews prepared to remove and replace sections of pavement on the exit ramp from southbound Interstate 55 to U.S. 67.

Originally, the southbound I-55 exit ramp to U.S. 67 was expected to close each night at 9 p.m. and reopen by 5 a.m., with signed detours directing motorists to use Route A or Exit 174 to reach U.S. 67.

MoDOT says all work remains weather-dependent and will announce new closure dates once the project has been rescheduled.

Motorists are encouraged to watch for future updates before traveling through the area.
