St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A motorcyclist from Tennessee was seriously injured Friday afternoon after a crash involving a Jeep on Missouri 47 in St. Francois County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m. Friday, May 9, on Missouri 47 near Nesbit Drive.
Troopers reported a 50-year-old woman from De Soto driving a 2007 Jeep Laredo southbound attempted to turn right onto Missouri 47 and entered the path of a westbound 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by a 33-year-old man from Kingsport, Tennessee.
Investigators say the motorcycle struck the front left side of the Jeep before overturning. The rider was completely ejected from the motorcycle during the crash. The motorcycle eventually came to rest in the westbound lane of Missouri 47.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported by St. Francois County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South. The Jeep driver was not listed as injured in the crash report.
The motorcycle was towed from the scene, while the Jeep was driven from the scene.
