Multi-Agency Pursuit Ends with Arrest After Abandoned 911 Call

Madison Co., Mo. (KFMO) - An abandoned 911 call in Madison County led to a multi-agency pursuit and the arrest of a wanted subject Thursday, January 22, 2026, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Nic Adams says the incident began when Madison County Dispatch received a hang-up 911 call. As with all abandoned calls, deputies treated the situation as potentially serious. Based on limited information provided from the call, a Madison County deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident.

The vehicle failed to yield and fled despite emergency equipment being activated, leading to a pursuit northbound on Highway 67 toward Farmington. Deputies from the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office and troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol joined the pursuit as it entered St. Francois County.

Authorities deployed tire deflation devices during the chase, but the driver continued fleeing at a high rate of speed and crossed into Jefferson County. The pursuit ended near Valle Mines, where the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

The driver was identified as Zachary Doyle, who authorities say had active parole violation warrants. Doyle was transported directly to the Bonne Terre Correctional Center by a Madison County deputy.

Sheriff Adams noted that under Missouri’s new Valentine’s Law, which took effect August 28, 2024, fleeing from a law enforcement traffic stop in a vehicle can be charged as a felony when the driver knowingly creates a substantial risk of serious injury or death. The offense is generally classified as a Class D felony, with more severe penalties possible if injuries or fatalities occur.
