One Dead in Sunday Morning Shooting on Hill Top Place Drive in Farmington

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - A deadly shooting is under investigation after Farmington police responded to reports of gunfire late Sunday morning in the 600 block of Hill Top Place Drive.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched at 11:33 a.m. on July 6, 2025, to the apartment complex after multiple 911 calls reported shots fired. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds lying on the ground. Officers immediately began life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

One male subject was taken into custody at the scene, and a firearm was recovered nearby. Witnesses told officers that the shooting took place in the breezeway of one of the apartment buildings on the property.

The identity of the victim has not been released pending family notification. Police say this is an active and ongoing investigation, and no further information is being released at this time.
