One Dead, Two Injured in Jefferson County Crash Involving Juvenile Driver

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - One person was killed and two juveniles were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 12 p.m. on January 13, 2026, at the intersection of Route A and Route Z. A 2005 Ford Escape, driven eastbound by a 16-year-old male from Hillsboro, failed to maintain its lane and crossed into the path of a westbound 2016 Acura TLX driven by a 34-year-old woman from Herculaneum. The driver of the Acura attempted to avoid the collision by steering to the right, but the front driver’s side of the Ford struck the driver’s side of the Acura.

The 34-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:21 p.m. by EMS. A 4-year-old male juvenile passenger in the Acura suffered serious injuries and was transported to St. Louis Children’s Hospital by ambulance. The 16-year-old driver of the Ford sustained moderate injuries and was also transported to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.

All individuals involved were reported to be wearing safety devices at the time of the crash.
