Park Hills Issues Boil Advisory Following Water Main Repair

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Park Hills has restored water service following a water main break near Highway 8 and Davis Court Thursday afternoon, but a 24-hour boil advisory was then put into place for several areas.

The advisory impacts the 300 and 400 blocks of High Street, all of Hickory Street, the 500 and 600 blocks of Westwood, and the 300 blocks of Edgewood, Division, and Bennett. Utility crews have been flushing lines, which may cause temporary low water pressure or discoloration.

Residents in the affected areas should boil water for at least three minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or preparing food. Ice makers and beverage machines should be turned off, and any ice, drinks, or baby formula made since the advisory began should be discarded. The City says bathing and laundry remain safe, but residents should avoid swallowing water while bathing.

The advisory will remain in place for at least 24 hours from the time it was issued Thursday afternoon.

For questions, residents may contact the Park Hills Utility Department at 573-431-2280.
