Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Park Hills is adjusting its trash collection schedule in response to extreme summer temperatures.
Beginning immediately and continuing until further notice, the Park Hills Public Works Department will start trash collection at 6 a.m. each day. City officials say the earlier start time is intended to help protect employees from working during the hottest part of the day as dangerous heat conditions persist across the region.
Residents are encouraged to place their trash at the curb before 6 a.m. on their scheduled collection day to ensure their garbage is picked up.
The city says the temporary schedule change is part of its effort to safeguard Public Works employees while maintaining essential services for the community.
Officials thanked residents for their understanding and cooperation as crews continue working to keep Park Hills clean during the summer heat.
