Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Park Hills says crews have completed repairs to a broken water main, but residents affected by the outage will need to continue following the Boil Water Advisory until noon Tuesday, August 18.
City officials say water is now being slowly put back into the system to help prevent additional cracks or breaks. The process is expected to take several hours and could continue through the rest of Monday before the water system is fully restored.
As the system returns to normal, city crews will also flush the water system and fire hydrants. Residents may notice temporary changes in water pressure or discoloration as that work takes place.
Officials are emphasizing that residents who experienced water issues or were without water should continue to follow the Boil Water Advisory until noon Tuesday, August 18.
The City of Park Hills thanked residents for their patience and understanding during the lengthy repair, as well as crews and surrounding communities that provided assistance and equipment throughout the night.
The city says additional updates will be provided as the water system returns to normal.
