Parolee Arrested After Stabbing Incident in Crawford County

Steelville, Mo. (KFMO) - A 30-year-old man was arrested Saturday afternoon in connection with a stabbing and slashing incident in Crawford County.

According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Steven Ryan Volner was taken into custody following an incident that occurred in the Highway TT area near Steelville. Deputies say Volner fled the scene before law enforcement arrived and has not been cooperating with investigators.

Authorities say Volner was recently released from the Missouri Department of Corrections and is currently on parole.

Deputies were dispatched Friday evening to Highway TT, where they found an adult victim suffering from stab and slash-related injuries. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a St. Louis–area hospital for further treatment. The victim’s current condition has not been released.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation remains ongoing.
