Pedestrian Killed in Early-Morning Hit-and-Run on Highway 30 in Byrnes Mill

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash after a pedestrian was struck and killed early Sunday morning along Highway 30.

According to the Patrol’s crash report, the incident occurred at approximately 6:58 a.m. just east of Upper Byrnes Mill Road. Investigators say a 30-year-old woman from High Ridge was walking along the highway when she was hit by an unknown westbound vehicle. The driver did not stop and left the scene. The victim was pronounced dead by the Jefferson County Medical Examiner shortly after 7:10 a.m. Her name has not yet been released. Troopers with the Major Crash Investigative Unit responded to assist at the scene.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the vehicle involved to contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol or their local law enforcement agency.
