Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The Farmington Police Department has released information regarding a traffic crash that injured North St. Francois County High School Baseball Coach Jacob Donze.
According to police, officers and EMS personnel were dispatched at approximately 6:42 a.m. on June 12, 2026 to the intersection of Perrine Road and Air Park Drive following a crash involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist.
The investigation determined that Jacob Donze of Farmington was riding a bicycle westbound on Perrine Road at the time of the crash. Police said Dustin Austell of Bonne Terre was driving a 2025 Chevrolet eastbound on Perrine Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Air Park Drive.
Investigators say Austell failed to yield the right-of-way to the westbound bicyclist, resulting in the Chevrolet striking Donze's bicycle.
The impact caused Donze to be thrown from the bicycle. He sustained injuries and was transported by ambulance from the scene to Mercy Hospital South for medical treatment.
Farmington Police say the crash remains under investigation.
