Washington Co, Mo. (KFMO) - A Washington County man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly threatening a store employee and later being found in possession of fentanyl and oxycodone during his arrest.
According to a probable cause statement filed by the Potosi Police Department, officers became involved after receiving a report of a disturbance involving 21-year-old Dakota W. Arcand.
Investigators say Arcand was inside a local business when he asked an employee if he could charge an ankle monitor. After being told he could not, authorities allege that Arcand became hostile and aggressive.
The employee reported that Arcand made threatening remarks, including telling them he would “catch them around.” According to court documents, the employee told officers they felt threatened by the statements because of Arcand’s behavior during the encounter.
Police later located Arcand and placed him under arrest.
During a search of his person, officers reportedly discovered 21 green and red pills and two white oval pills in his front pocket. Authorities stated the colorful pills tested positive for fentanyl and weighed approximately 2.4 grams. The two white pills were identified as oxycodone.
As a result of the investigation, Arcand has been charged with Second-Degree Drug Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and First-Degree Harassment.
Court records also indicate Arcand is currently on probation and parole for a previous First-Degree Burglary conviction.
