Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Potosi woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting a Washington County deputy while in custody at a local hospital.
On Friday, September 19, deputies were at the hospital with a female suspect on a pending assault charge when she became combative, leading to a physical altercation. During the struggle, the woman reportedly kicked a deputy in the head and bit his arm. The deputy regained control of the suspect, who was later transported to the Washington County Jail after receiving medical treatment. Officials say the deputy sustained a moderate bite wound to his arm, causing bleeding and bruising.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Destiny Ridgley of Potosi, has been charged with Assault 1st (Special Victim), two counts of Domestic Assault 3rd, Assault 3rd, and Attempted Escape from Custody.
