Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced it will hold a virtual local public hearing on Wednesday, October 30, 2025, beginning at noon. The hearing will allow the public to provide input on Ameren Missouri’s proposal for new energy facilities at the site of the former Rush Island Energy Center.
On June 25, 2025, Ameren Missouri filed an application with the PSC requesting a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) for an 800-megawatt, multi-unit, simple-cycle natural gas electric generation facility, along with a 400-megawatt battery storage facility at the Jefferson County location.

By Video: Visit webex.com or use the Cisco WebEx app. Enter the same meeting number and password at the scheduled time.
To help with an orderly process, participants are encouraged to register in advance by emailing their name, phone number, and email to pscinfo@psc.mo.gov or calling 800-392-4211 before 5 p.m. on October 29. However, registration is not required.
Those unable to attend can still provide written comments by mail to the PSC at P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, MO 65102, or through the Commission’s online filing system at psc.mo.gov/General/Submit_Comments. When submitting, reference Case No. EA-2025-0238.
