Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Residents of St. Francois County are invited to attend a public forum Tuesday evening focused on homelessness in the community.
The event will take place Tuesday, March 10, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First State Community Center Auditorium in Farmington.
Organizers say the forum will give the public an opportunity to hear directly from agencies and individuals who work with people experiencing homelessness in St. Francois County. The goal is to address rumors, misinformation, and misunderstandings surrounding the complex issue while providing accurate information about the work currently being done to assist individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
Shelly Bess, Executive Director of Shared Blessings, says the forum will include local experts who have first-hand experience assisting people in need.
Bess says those who attend should come away with a better understanding of homelessness in St. Francois County and the efforts already underway to provide help and resources.
Organizers say the event is open to the public and anyone interested in learning more about homelessness and available resources in St. Francois County is encouraged to attend.
