Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - As fall begins, the American Red Cross is urging people to give blood or platelets to help maintain a strong and steady blood supply for patients in need.
An account manager with the Red Cross, Tara Lincoln, says giving blood now is critical.
The Red Cross reports that types O-positive and B-negative are especially needed at this time. September is also National Preparedness Month, a reminder that a strong blood supply is vital in responding to all types of emergencies, from home fires to natural disasters.
