Registered Sex Offender Charged in Washington County Child Sex Abuse Case

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Potosi man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office into allegations of sexual abuse involving a minor.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies received a report involving a 13-year-old girl who disclosed that she had been sexually abused by her uncle. Investigators identified the suspect as Brian K. Eckhoff, a registered sex offender with a prior criminal history that includes a child molestation case involving a 7-year-old victim.

Following the investigation, Eckhoff has been formally charged with statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy involving deviate sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 14 as an aggravated sexual offense, attempted sexual abuse in the first degree with a victim under 14 years of age, enticement or attempted enticement of a child, attempted incest, and sexual misconduct involving a child.

Bond in the case has been set at no bond.

The investigation remains under investigation.
