Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri Route 47 bridge over Mill Creek in Washington County is now open to traffic following the completion of a major rehabilitation project.
The bridge, located northeast of Potosi near Cadet, reopened to all traffic Monday night, January 19, 2026, after construction work that began in mid-September. While permanent pavement markings still need to be completed, the bridge will remain open during that work. Flaggers will be on site to direct motorists through the work zone as crews finish the remaining tasks.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $588,737.59 contract to UDT, LLC during its April 2025 meeting to rehabilitate the 60-year-old structure. Although the bridge’s supporting structures were found to be in good condition, the bridge deck, the driving surface, was in poor condition and required replacement. As part of the project, crews installed a new, wider bridge deck, updated bridge rails to meet current safety standards, and added new guardrail at both ends of the bridge.
Drivers are advised to use caution in the area and watch for flaggers and work crews as the final improvements are completed.
