St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Drivers in parts of St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve counties will need to slow down and plan for possible delays as pavement repairs begin along Route Y.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says the project will impact the stretch of Route Y from Route D to Interstate 55 near Bloomsdale.
Beginning Monday, June 8, crews will reduce traffic to one lane through the work zone, with a 10-foot width restriction in place. Work is scheduled to continue through Friday, June 12, operating daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
MoDOT is reminding drivers that the area will be clearly marked with signs, but traffic delays are possible during peak work hours. Officials urge motorists to use extreme caution when traveling through the construction zone and to consider alternate routes if possible.
Crews say the work is part of ongoing maintenance efforts to improve roadway conditions and safety in the region.
