Secondary Roads Remain Slick Following Weekend Winter Storm

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Road crews across the Parkland continue working to clear roadways after this past weekend’s winter storm, but drivers are being warned that secondary roads and side streets will remain hazardous for some time.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, caution is still critical when traveling. Public Information Officer Sergeant Dallas Thompson says drivers should be aware and remain alert for changing road conditions, especially on less-traveled routes.

Officials also caution that even with daytime temperatures expected to reach the mid-30s over the next couple of days, refreezing will remain a concern. Melting snow and ice during the day can refreeze overnight, creating slick and dangerous conditions.

Motorists are urged to check road conditions before traveling and use extra care, particularly during early morning and nighttime hours.
