Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - A shots fired incident in Bonne Terre was resolved peacefully Monday evening, with no injuries reported.
According to the Bonne Terre Police Department, officers were dispatched around 6 p.m. on February 9, 2026, to the 200 block of North B Street following a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers determined a male subject had discharged multiple gunshots at random from the rear of his residence.
Officers attempted to make contact with the subject, but he refused to respond. Based on the circumstances, police believed the subject was inside the home, armed, and barricaded. Due to the potential danger, additional resources were requested, including the Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT team and crisis negotiators.
The situation was resolved through negotiations, and the subject surrendered without further incident. He was taken into custody and arrested on a charge of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, then transported to the St. Francois County Jail, where he is being held pending application for an arrest warrant.
Following the arrest, officers executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered a firearm believed to have been used during the incident.
The investigation remains active. Police say no injuries were reported.
