Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Site work is moving quickly at the future Farmington Crossings development, a major new retail project expected to bring several businesses, restaurants, and big-box stores to the Farmington area.
The development is located near Highway 67, Woodlawn Drive, and Bray Road and has already become one of the most talked-about commercial projects in the Parkland.
One of the major anchor tenants, Target, has now confirmed plans for a new store in Farmington.
In a statement to KFMO B104 News, Target officials said:
“We’re excited to create an easy, inspiring and friendly shopping experience that brings Target’s signature style and design at an affordable value to new guests in the Farmington community in the coming years with this new Target store. Located at Highway 67 and Bray Road, the store will be approximately 128,000 square feet. As we get closer to opening the store, we’ll have more specific details to share, including how the shopping experience will be tailored to serve local guests and the grand opening date.”
The new Target store is expected to serve as one of the primary anchors of the Farmington Crossings development and could become a major shopping draw for residents throughout St. Francois County and surrounding areas.
Another major retailer expected to join the development is Academy Sports + Outdoors, adding to anticipation surrounding the project.
Community and business leaders believe Farmington Crossings could have a significant economic impact on the area by attracting shoppers from across the Parkland and beyond. In addition to expanding local shopping options, the development is also expected to generate additional sales tax revenue and create new employment opportunities for area residents.
As construction and site preparation continue, more announcements are expected regarding additional retailers, restaurants, and future opening timelines.
Farmington Crossings is shaping up to be one of the largest commercial developments in the region in recent years.
