St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A hands-on outdoor learning opportunity is coming to the Parkland next month.
The Missouri Women Owning Woodlands chapter is hosting a free Spring Tree Identification Hike on Friday, May 9, 2026, giving participants a chance to explore nature while learning valuable identification skills.
The hike will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Joe State Park, located at 2800 Pimville Road in Park Hills. The group will travel along the Lakeview Trail during the event.
Participants will learn how to identify common Missouri tree species during the spring season by examining key features such as flowers, leaves, twigs, and bark. The event is designed for all experience levels and provides a hands-on way to better understand local woodlands.
There is no cost to attend, but those interested are encouraged to register online in advance to secure a spot and receive additional event details.
