St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Monday night, the St. Francois County Ambulance District recognized members of its team with Clinical Save Awards, honoring extraordinary life-saving efforts in the field.
On two separate occasions, ambulance crews responded to patients suffering from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. In both incidents, the patients were successfully resuscitated and later recovered with a quality of life, an outcome officials say is rare and worthy of special recognition.
During the ceremony, Davey Miller, Clinical Operations Officer and Assistant Administrator, explained what out-of-hospital cardiac arrest means and the critical challenges crews face when responding to these emergencies.
Miller noted that achieving two successful cardiac arrest saves in such close succession is nothing short of extraordinary, emphasizing that it reflects the preparation, skill, and dedication the district’s paramedics and EMTs bring to their work every day.
The Clinical Save Awards highlight the importance of training, teamwork, and rapid response in emergency medical services, while underscoring the impact these professionals have on the lives of patients and families throughout St. Francois County.
