St. Francois County Commission Approves On-Call List of Engineers

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Francois County Commission has approved an on-call list of engineers with the Missouri Department of Transportation, allowing the county to bypass the bidding process.

Associate Commissioner Kary Buckley says the benefit of the list is that the county can act quickly in an emergency.

Instead of the county requesting qualifications, it will use a list of companies that have already been screened and determined to be eligible and certified. Included in the on-call list are Smith & Company Engineering, Cochran Engineering, and Taylor Engineering.

In other county business, the commission approved the selling of surplus equipment and used vehicles from the Sheriff's Department, and gave permission to the Road & Bridge Deparment to apply for a solid waste grant for the Fiscal Year 2026.
