St. Francois County Mental Health Board Expands Focus on Youth Services

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Mental health challenges impact people of all ages, including young people, and the St. Francois County Mental Health Board is working to expand its outreach and involvement with youth in the community.

Whitney Shumway with the St. Francois County Mental Health Board says the organization wants to increase its focus on youth mental health initiatives and strengthen partnerships aimed at early intervention and support.

Shumway says the board has already taken steps to move that effort forward, meeting with schools across the area to discuss needs, resources, and potential collaboration opportunities.

The goal is to build stronger connections between schools, families, and community resources to ensure young people have access to the mental health support they need.
