St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department Conducts “Operation Candy Crush” Compliance Checks

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Members of the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department took part in the second annual Operation Candy Crush, an initiative focused on conducting compliance checks of registered sexual offenders during Halloween.

The effort is designed to ensure offenders are adhering to their legal restrictions at a time when children are actively out in the community. According to preliminary reports, three individuals were found to be non-compliant. Formal reports are being completed and will be forwarded to the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for potential charges. Deputies conducted compliance checks in Iron Mountain Lake, Desloge, Park Hills, Farmington, and throughout unincorporated areas of the county. Local police departments in Bismarck, Leadwood, and Bonne Terre also performed their own checks as part of the operation.

The sheriff’s department says Operation Candy Crush reflects their ongoing commitment to public safety and helps ensure a safer environment for families during Halloween festivities.
