St. Louis Man Injured in Interstate 55 Crash Near Ste. Genevieve

Ste. Genevieve Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A St. Louis man was moderately injured early Sunday morning following a crash on Interstate 55 in Ste. Genevieve County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 6:22 a.m. at the 157.8-mile marker on southbound I-55. Troopers say the 59-year-old man was driving a 2023 International A26 when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway. The driver reportedly overcorrected, causing the truck to skid back onto the highway before veering off the left side again. The front left of the vehicle struck the median cable barrier, and the truck then overturned onto its left side and slid to a stop.

The man, who was wearing a safety device, suffered moderate injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson.

The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
