Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has issued a construction permit to Phoenix Park Hills Industrial Investors LLC for the development of the Reworld Solutions, LLC – Park Hills solid waste processing facility in St. Francois County.
According to the department, the facility will process recovered materials for use in creating alternative engineered fuel. It will also handle solid waste for proper disposal at a thermal mechanical treatment facility or a landfill. The site will be located in the former Piramal Glass facility in the industrial park in Park Hills. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources reviews all applications submitted by cities, counties, and private owners to ensure solid waste processing facilities are properly designed and constructed.
The review also includes technical factors intended to protect Missouri’s environment. Before the facility can begin accepting waste, the department must issue a separate operating permit.
