Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Severe storms that moved through the Parkland Sunday evening produced a confirmed tornado and several reports of wind damage across multiple counties in southeast Missouri.
According to the National Weather Service, an EF-1 tornado touched down just north of Highway 72 about two miles southwest of Sedgewickville in Bollinger County. The tornado caused damage to several outbuildings and barns in the area.
Strong winds also caused damage in Madison County. An outbuilding collapsed at Buckhorn General Baptist Church, and a nearby road northeast of Buckhorn was temporarily blocked by a downed tree. In Marquand, storm winds blew the roof off a mobile home.
In St. Francois County, wind gusts were estimated at around 60 miles per hour just north of Farmington. A rotating wall cloud or funnel cloud was also photographed south of Park Hills before a carport was lifted and set on top of a nearby house. Power lines in the area were also bent by the strong winds.
Storm damage was also reported in Ste. Genevieve County, where tree debris blocked part of Highway D north of Highway O near Leadington.
Emergency crews and local officials continue to monitor damage reports, though no injuries have been reported from the storms.
