Strong Fourth of July Storms Bring Damaging Winds to the Parkland

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Strong thunderstorms moved through the Parkland on Saturday afternoon, July 4, bringing damaging winds and scattered storm damage across the area.

Wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour were recorded as the storms passed through the region. The strong winds brought down tree limbs and power lines in several communities, creating hazardous travel conditions and causing power outages in some areas.

Emergency crews, utility workers and public works departments responded to reports of downed trees and damaged power lines as they worked to clear roadways and restore service.

Cleanup efforts are expected to continue as crews address the damage left behind by the holiday storms.
