Annapolis, Mo. (KFMO) - A temporary lockdown at South Iron schools was lifted Wednesday morning after authorities determined there was no ongoing threat to students or staff.
According to a message sent to families, the school was alerted around 9:45 a.m. to a situation occurring in the community. As a precaution and in coordination with local law enforcement, school officials placed the building on a temporary lockdown. The Missouri State Highway Patrol later notified school administrators that the situation had been secured and that there was no continuing danger to the school or the surrounding community.
Following that confirmation, the lockdown was lifted and normal school operations and schedules resumed. School officials emphasized that student and staff safety remains their top priority and thanked law enforcement for their quick response, as well as staff and students for their cooperation during the precautionary measure.
Parents and community members with questions or concerns were encouraged to contact the school office.
