Three Arrested at Scott County Campground on Ste. Genevieve County Warrants

Scott Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Three people wanted in Ste. Genevieve County were taken into custody Friday afternoon after being located at a campground in Scott County.

According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 1:30 p.m. on December 12 to a report of a suspicious vehicle at the General Watkins Conservation Area campground off Park Road. Investigators arrived and found two men and a woman, all of whom were determined to have active warrants out of Ste. Genevieve County for failure to appear on drug-related charges. The three were arrested without incident. Deputies then searched the vehicle and reportedly located suspected fentanyl along with drug-related items.

During the investigation, the sheriff’s office says the woman and one of the men also provided false identifying information to law enforcement. Authorities say all three individuals have lengthy criminal histories spanning multiple states.

42-year-old Christopher S. Gibson of Herrin, Illinois, is charged with second-degree trafficking drugs involving fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. 22-year-old Isaiah G. Gibson of Malden, Missouri, and 25-year-old Misty D. Maze of Herrin, Illinois, are each charged with second-degree trafficking drugs involving fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, and giving false information to law enforcement.

All three were transported to the Scott County Jail, where they remain in custody pending formal charges on the new offenses.
