Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol has announced three promotions within Troop C, with all changes taking effect on November 16, 2025. Each officer has served the region with distinction and will continue supporting the citizens of southeast Missouri in their new roles.

Thompson began his career with the Patrol on October 20, 2002, after graduating from the 80th Recruit Class. His first assignment placed him in Zone 14, serving St. Francois and Washington counties.

He later transferred to the Public Information and Education Division on August 1, 2015, where he earned the rank of Corporal in 2017. Thompson is originally from Potosi and graduated from Potosi High School in 1995.

Sergeant Alex Shibley

Corporal Alex Shibley has also been promoted to Sergeant and will take on the role of zone commander for Zone 14. Shibley joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 2, 2014, as a member of the 98th Recruit Class. Following his academy graduation, he was assigned directly to Zone 14 and has continued serving the region throughout his career.

He earned a promotion to Corporal in 2019. Shibley is a native of Bonne Terre and a graduate of North County High School.

Corporal Ryan Steele

Trooper Ryan Steele has been promoted to Corporal and will serve as the assistant zone supervisor for Zone 14. Steele joined the Patrol on January 6, 2020, as part of the 109th Recruit Class. He was first assigned to Zone 10 in Franklin County, where he served until this promotion.
