Traffic Stop in Washington County Leads to Major Meth Seizure and Two Arrests

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A traffic stop in Washington County on Sunday, September 28, 2025, led to a significant methamphetamine seizure and the arrest of two individuals.

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted the stop and, after receiving consent to search the vehicle, discovered a large plastic bag containing approximately 83.7 grams of a white crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. A second bag of methamphetamine was also found hidden inside a styrofoam cup, appearing to be an attempt to destroy the evidence.

The driver, Wendy Couch of Potosi, was charged with trafficking drugs in the second degree and possession of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.

The passenger, Bobby Kennon of Park Hills, was charged with trafficking drugs in the second degree, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with physical evidence. His bond was set at $100,000 cash only.

Both suspects were booked into the Washington County Jail pending court appearances.
