Training Underway for New Farmington School Resource Officers

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Training is now underway for two newly hired School Resource Officers who will eventually serve the Farmington Police Department and the Farmington School District.

Farmington Police Chief Chris Bullock says the department has hired Bill Stegall and Aaron Mueller to fill the School Resource Officer positions.

Bullock says the two officers may not be placed within the school district during the current school year, as both will be undergoing extensive and specialized training before assuming their roles.

In the meantime, Bullock says the Farmington Police Department has implemented a temporary plan to maintain a strong law enforcement presence in school buildings.

That plan includes regular and highly visible patrols by road officers inside school facilities until Stegall and Mueller complete their training and can be officially assigned as School Resource Officers.
