Trooper Mark D. Benson Promoted to Corporal in Troop C

Ste. Genevieve Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol has announced the promotion of Trooper Mark D. Benson to the rank of corporal, effective May 1, 2025.

Corporal Benson will now serve as the assistant zone commander of Troop C, Zone 16, which covers Ste. Genevieve and Perry counties. Benson began his career with the Patrol on January 6, 2020, as a member of the 109th Recruit Class. After completing training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was first assigned to Troop C, Zone 13, serving the citizens of Jefferson County. A native of Fredericktown, Benson graduated from Fredericktown High School in 2017. He is married and the father of two children.

The Highway Patrol says Benson’s promotion reflects his dedication to public safety and his continued commitment to serving communities in southeast Missouri.
