Two Brothers Arrested After Armed Robbery in Farmington

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - St. Francois County Deputies arrested two brothers early Tuesday morning following an armed robbery in Farmington.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to the 4600 block of Highway O around 12:28 a.m. on August 26, 2025. The victim told investigators he had arranged to meet Wesley Mercer through social media. During the encounter, Mercer allegedly pulled a pistol, took the victim’s car keys, and ran from the scene on foot.

Deputies were able to identify Mercer through a profile photo and located him a short time later at his residence on Highway D, where he was taken into custody. Authorities also arrested his brother, Andrew Mercer, for reportedly hindering prosecution. A firearm and the stolen items were recovered during the investigation.

Both men were transported to the St. Francois County Detention Center. Wesley Mercer is charged with vehicle hijacking and is being held on a $100,000 bond. Andrew Mercer faces a charge of hindering prosecution of a felony with a $2,500 bond.
