St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Two juveniles from Fredericktown were taken into custody Tuesday night after a pursuit that crossed several counties in southeast Missouri.
According to the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department, deputies assisted the Farmington Police Department after officers received reports of multiple vehicles driving recklessly through business parking lots in the Maple Valley Shopping Center area in Farmington.
Initial information indicated that one of the vehicles may have struck a parked car before fleeing from Farmington officers and heading southbound on Highway H. Deputies later took over the pursuit near the intersection of Highways OO and DD.
Authorities say the suspect vehicle continued at high speeds through Madison, Perry, and Ste. Genevieve counties before the chase ended.
In the Bidwell Creek Road area of Ste. Genevieve County, the vehicle reportedly left the roadway and entered a wooded area, traveling approximately half a mile down a logging road before finally coming to a stop.
The driver and passenger, both juveniles from Fredericktown, Missouri, were taken into custody at the scene. They were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center for referral.
Officials say the vehicle involved in the pursuit was towed from the scene and impounded.
Following additional investigation, the Farmington Police Department confirmed that no parked vehicles were struck during the incident as initially believed.
