Madison Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Two people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a head-on crash on Highway J, about eight miles east of Fredericktown.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m. when a 2004 Kia Spectra, driven by a 77-year-old man from Fredericktown, crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2017 Dodge Ram head-on. The driver of the Kia sustained serious injuries and was flown by Air Evac to St. Louis University Hospital. The driver of the Dodge, a 54-year-old woman from Piedmont, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by EMS to Madison Medical Center in Fredericktown.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged and towed from the scene. Troopers report both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
