Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County Sunday afternoon sent two people to area hospitals with injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 1:10 p.m. on May 17 on the ramp from southbound Interstate 55 to U.S. 61 in Jefferson County.
Troopers say a 56-year-old man from Festus was driving a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 and had stopped on the ramp from southbound I-55 to U.S. 61. A 2024 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 70-year-old woman from De Soto was traveling northbound on U.S. 61 near Interstate 55.
Investigators say the driver of the pickup began making a left turn and the front of the Malibu struck the left side of the truck.
The Festus man suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by the Joachim Plattin Ambulance District. The De Soto woman suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital South.
The pickup sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. The Malibu sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
